The Amber Campaign CastOk, given that I've been talking a bit about my Amber game lately, I thought maybe people would be interested in getting a list of the Amber characters from that campaign:
1. Dietmar, Son of Benedict, Lord of the House Sawall of the Courts of Chaos (played by Fede, a.k.a. "Sun Boy" on
theRPGsite): Dietmar is one of two sons of Benedict, but far from the one Benedict wanted, he was always ignored or poorly treated (never quite MIStreated, but very coldly treated) by his father (who seemed to favour his other son Morgan). Dietmar grew up thinking he was a bastard and that this was the cause of his father's coldness, but later came to discover that in fact it was due to his mother having been a Chaos lady of clan Hendrake, who was also Benedict's granddaughter (or something like that). This discovery lead him to abandon Amber, where he felt unwanted, and he tried to make a new start in Chaos. His attempt to join clan Hendrake was thwarted by his brother (who'd been sent by Benedict to collect him), but he was later given refuge and house membership in the Sawall House by his cousin, Dara. He was initiated in the Logrus, and has since worked as an assassin for House Sawall.
Dietmar was totally lost as a personality before having come to Chaos. Now, having joined house Sawall he is fiercely loyal to them and has rejected completely his Amberite heritage; however, he still does not wish to have to enter into a direct confrontation with Amber. Recently, when it appeared that Dietmar had died, Benedict revealed that he had more affection for Dietmar than he'd ever let on, and when it turned out Dietmar was in fact alive, Benedict attempted to mend fences with him, but Dietmar was not very receptive. Nevertheless, Benedict gave Dietmar his personal sword, Iisvigg.
2. Drake, Duke of Eregnor, Ambassador of Amber, Admiral of the Fleet, son of Dalt (played by Alejo): Drake was an orphan, brought up in the Golden Circle, who came to believe that he was an Amberite. Random came to believe this too, and he gave him some responsibilities in Amber, eventually giving him the opportunity to cross the Pattern, which he survived. Thus, he became a member of the royal family; and his continued work for the king led Random to give him the title of Ambassador of Amber to the Golden Circle, and later (after Caine's death) the Admiralty of the Amber fleet. Lately, he finally discovered that his father is Dalt, the enemy of Amber and a lost son of Oberon. This has not affected his total loyalty to Amber, and instead Drake went and took over Eregnor, with Random granting him a Duchal title over that land. Drake is generally seen as the most responsible and trustworthy of his generation, especially by the King. He often tends to be the "straight man" to all the lunacy around him.
3. Prince Maximo, son of Caine (played by Cristian): Maximo is one of two sons of Caine. He was raised partly by Caine and partly in shadow. Maximo is slightly older than the rest of his generation and was the first of them (after Martin) to walk the Pattern. However, he was never given great responsibility by either his father or Random, being seen as a reliable kind of person but less outstanding perhaps than his more intellectual brother. When Maximo has been given charges, they are usually of a combat/military nature. Caine's death was traumatic for both of his sons, and Maximo attempted to discover who his father's murderer was and avenge himself. He has come to believe it was Dalt who killed his father. In exchange for this, he attempted to assassinate Dalt during a truce imposed by the Queen's orders. For this, and for having hidden certain facts about Ewan's identity from Random, the King has sentenced Maximo to exile from Amber. Maximo has since haplessly found himself getting entangled in a number of acts that could be interpreted as treason, though he hadn't intended them as such (he assassinated one of Random's agents in shadow, and later assisted a group of Chaos lords in battle in shadow against Benedict). Most recently, Maximo found himself stuck in Undershadow with Merlin, where he tried to help Merlin avoid choosing either Order or Chaos over the other. Merlin repaid him by abandoning him in Amber after Merlin stole the Jewel of Judgment.
Maximo is a somewhat reckless personality, which leads him to often get himself into more trouble than he would like. He also has a number of personal agendas and vendettas, and like many Amberites he tries to mask this by pretending that he's really trying to act for the greater good.
4. Prince Morgan, son of Benedict, Lord Protector of Avalon (played by Jong): Morgan is Benedict's other son, the favoured one. He grew up as a squire in Avalon, Benedict's pendragon-esque shadow, and eventually Benedict moved on leaving Morgan as lord protector of that realm, a charge Morgan takes seriously. In fact, Morgan tends to take everything his father says very seriously. He has spent his whole life trying to do whatever his father asks of him, and has been derisively referred to by other amberites as "benedict jr.". Morgan is the best swordsman of his generation, but he has also become a sorcerer (and uses it often) and has recently become the first of his generation to master Advanced Pattern. He is, in other words, an overachiever.
Morgan is taken seriously by the Elders, but has a habit of sticking his foot in his mouth; a misunderstanding with Llewella cost him dearly, and Random, who once held him in as much regard as he does Drake, lost some trust in him when he found out that Morgan had known for some time about Ewan's true identity. Morgan having been the one who revealed that plot to Random somewhat mitigated things, but didn't leave him in good standing with any of the other conspirators. In other words, Morgan's desire to impress people and his need to be taken seriously have often led him to act with little tact.
Morgan and Maximo have been developing a rivarly, culminating in a recent battle where Maximo apparently tried to kill Morgan, and Morgan in turn defeated and captured Maximo. Ironically, the two are very similar in many respects; both are trying to live up to their father's name, and both tend to "misinterpret" what's best for them as being what's "best for the universe".
5. Ewan, son of Eric (played by Marcel): Ewan came to Amber claiming to be an orphan like Drake, having grown up in shadow but being told he was a son of an Amberite prince. In fact, Ewan knew all along that his father was Eric, dead king of Amber; but had been warned to keep it a secret lest Random feel he was a threat to the throne. Ewan thus lied to the king, and later, when he was forced to use Eric's Silver Sabre that he had inherited, entered into a conspiracy with those who had discovered him to keep it from the king. He allied with Gerard, Julian, and the sons of Caine; and got promises of secrecy from Flora and Morgan. Ewan appeared to be a good and loyal servant of Amber, but at the same time, he had been hard at work gaining the loyalty of the Weir (the wolf-men that were loyal to his father) and later raising an army in a Golden Circle shadow, seemingly in preparation for a potential moment to overthrow Random. Unfortunately for Ewan, Morgan blabbed everything to Random just as Random was on the verge of granting Ewan permission to cross the Pattern. Random had planned to arrest Ewan (and did in fact arrest Julian, as well as exiling Maximo), but Ewan apparently received some kind of advance warning and fled. Ewan is currently an outlaw from Amber, the King having ordered his capture and warned that any Amberite giving him aid would be guilty of treason.
6. Karel, son of Flora (played by Amaro): Karel was raised on a shadow of Earth, and had no knowledge of anything outside of Earth until the people he thought were his parents died in a mysterious fire, and shortly thereafter he was recruited for training as an agent by a group known as Bureau 13. He was found by them because of his exceptional physical and psychic skills, and he thought his training was to become part of some kind of elite anti-terrorist squad. It was only later that he learned that B13 was an inter-dimensional agency meant to protect the infinite Earths from extra-dimensional creatures of great power known as Amberites, Demons, and Chaos Lords. Shortly after that, he was contacted by a princess of Amber, Lorelei, a prisoner of B13 who claimed that Karel was in fact one of them. Investigating further, he discovered that B13 may have been involved with his parent's deaths, and finally he conducted a ritual to contact his dead father, who's ghost revealed to him that he was in fact the son of an Amberite princess named Flora (who was also being kept prisoner by B13, but in some other shadow). Making a choice, he rescued Lorelai, and she took him to meet with Fiona. She took him to Amber, and since then he has been trying to win the trust of the King, and has worked to try to fight B13.
Karel was not given permission to walk the pattern, but he was contacted by Dworkin who helped him walk the Primal Pattern in exchange for Karel freeing him from the bonds Oberon had put him in. Karel, haplessly, agreed.
In fact, Karel's short career in Amber has thus far been marked by one incident of "getting in over his head" after another. Thus far, he's managed to avoid serious consequences for his actions by being "the new guy", but that allowance is likely strained to its limit already, and is due to run out.
Stay tuned for part two shortly.

Just a clarification. You used plural for Cain's sons regarding Ewan's conspiration. Just wanted to remind that unless you made Starton go into the plan after i left, i never had anything to do with that. As a matter of fact, i would have told Random everything if i ever found out.
Sorry, that's true. My mistake.
