  • New Year, New Look, New Logo

So, here we are again. And this year, I'm hoping to go for something simple, nice and wide, hopefully something that no one will be able to claim is hard on the eyes...

Our new logo this year is "Guarding the Frontier Against the Swine".  In the past several years, we've gone from an environment where the Swine had a virtual online hegemony, to one where they've been on full retreat on all fronts.
And year after year, I proved all of my naysayers and opponents fools.

Now, born from the core that is theRPGsite, we (the Regular Roleplayers)1 have carved out an online empire, bigger than "the forge", bigger than "storygames", and our mere presence has led to vast change in how people look at and talk about RPGs online.

No longer is GNS the assumed default ideology and terminology.  Now, on the contrary, people more or less agree that it is a purely ideological concept that has no relation to truth, and the only reason to ever talk about it is in the context of talking about storygames.

No longer are the Swine able to get away with bullying their way into power in supposedly "neutral" forums.  RPG.net is still run by more or less the same gang, the modclique, but they're neutered now, the winds of change and my own site proving you don't need heavy-handed moderation demonstrating that their claims to justify their power-grab were baseless.  Now even on RPG.net, which was once command central for the Swine, you can speak far more freely than ever before.

And here I am. On the start of this website's FIFTH year, I am still out here, in the vanguard of this fight, but now we have built an empire. We have made it bigger and stronger than anything the Swine have. And the job now is to guard that frontier. To defend it against the Swine, who will no doubt keep trying this year, as they have in the last several years, to either invade or subvert it.

But I'm still here, much to the vexation of my rogues gallery, of those who swore as long as five years ago that I'd just be a flash in the pan, and of the Swine everywhere.  I will, this year, stand on guard, to keep the clear landmarks of Regular Roleplaying, and keep out those who would try to destroy this precious hobby.
